چکیده

We present mixed gauge R-matrix Floquet calculations of multiphoton ionization of Li within a single active electron local model potential. The laser frequency ranges from 15 000 to 15 800 cm, and at least three photons are needed to ionize the electron in the 2s ground state. We found that the measured ionization rate as a function of photon frequency results from ionization processes in different intensity regions of the laser. The experimental angular distribution of the ejected electrons can be explained using the high intensity portion of the laser for both the lowest ionization channel and the first above-threshold ionization channel. The calculated and experimental angular distributions agree well with each other and demonstrate the success of the R-matrix approach to the multiphoton ionization processes. @S1050-2947~96!05810-6#

High-order perturbation expansion of non-Hermitian Floquet theory for multiphoton and above-threshold ionization processes

A high-order perturbation theory is presented for efficient and accurate computation of multiphoton and above-threshold ionization cross sections of atoms and molecules in weak to medium strength laser fields. The procedure is based on a Raleigh-Schrödinger perturbative expansion of the time-independent non-Hermitian Floquet Hamiltonian. The reduced Green function and generalized pseudospectral...

Generalized Floquet formulation of time-dependent current-density-functional theory

We present a generalized Floquet formulation of time-dependent current-density-functional theory for nonperturbative treatment of multiphoton processes of many-electron systems in intense monochromatic electric and magnetic fields. It is shown that the time-dependent Kohn-Sham-like equation can be transformed into an equivalent time-independent Floquet Hamiltonian matrix eigenvalue problem. A p...

Semiclassical analysis of long-wavelength multiphoton processes: The Rydberg atom

We study the problem of multiphoton processes for intense, long-wavelength irradiation of atomic and molecular electrons. An exact, nonperturbative approach is applied to the standard vector potential coupling Hamiltonian for a three-dimensional hydrogenlike atom in a microwave field treated semiclassically. Multiphoton probability exchange is calculated in both the velocity and the length gaug...

Floquet formulation for the investigation of multiphoton quantum interference in a superconducting qubit driven by a strong ac field

We present a Floquet treatment of multiphoton quantum interference in a strongly driven superconducting flux qubit. The periodically time-dependent Schrödinger equation can be reduced to an equivalent timeindependent infinite-dimensional Floquet matrix eigenvalue problem. For resonant or nearly resonant multiphoton transitions, we extend the generalized Van Vleck GVV nearly degenerate high-orde...
